Bonded Asbestos
There are many types of hazardous wastes and when you produce them, you are responsible for them and their correct disposal. Winn’s Waste has a Hazardous Waste Transfer Station where we are licensed to handle Bonded Asbestos.
Bonded asbestos was used in most construction projects during the 1900′s. It was phased out during the late 80′s but not officially banned in the UK until 1999. So any building up until 1999 may contain bonded asbestos.
If you are thinking about disposing of your bonded asbestos, Winn’s Waste can provide you with skips and dumpy bags which we will put though our fully licensed Hazardous Transfer Station. We will then bulk it and take it to a Hazardous Waste Landfill Site. You will be required to bag tiles or wrap sheets with plastic before loading into a skip.
If your project is likely to produce more than 500kg of bonded asbestos, you will be required to contact the Environment Agency to register your property as a Hazardous Waste Producer. This can be done by calling 08708 502 858 or by visiting the Environment Agency website. There will be a small payment to make to the Environment Agency to obtain the premises code.
Winn’s Waste will provide you with a Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005: Consignment Note which is a legal document to certify you have disposed of your waste in a legal manner and covered your Duty of Care.
